Sheng Maocha 2023 — Camellia Crassiculumna

Fresh maocha is “unfinished tea,” or unpressed puerh. This batch from February 2023 comes from wild tea trees in the Chiang Dao region — a very rare type of camellia called Crassiculumna, which contains very little caffeine.

Super young and fresh, bursting with flavour. A “coup de coeur” — fragrance of lemon peel and a surprisingly soft texture (young sheng can be quite astringent). Bright and zesty, with a strong huigan, lemon peel and orange notes, delicate and sweet. Oily texture, strong cha qi.
