About the piece
This set is composed of 2 smelling cups (elongated ones) and 2 drinking cups (classic shaped ones). According the Gong Fu Cha practice, the tea is transferred from one to the other.
The idea is to pour the tea first in the long ones, then in the classic ones. The aromas are then smelled from the long cups, and the tea is drank from the small classic cups.
Soft white glaze, allowing for appreciation of the tea color.
About my work
I make every piece by hand in my small Chiang Mai studio. My work is shaped by my love for tea and my studies of oriental teawares. From working in a teahouse in Montreal to sourcing teas throughout northern Thailand, I have developped a unique style in my ceramics: one of a tea enthusiast. Each pot is made to be used, balancing function with a creative spin.
